Find the perfect space:

When choosing your getting ready location, look for somewhere that is nice and open with lots of natural light. This is your wedding day, so you want to feel comfortable! If the space your venue offers for getting ready does not seem like a good fit, consider renting out a cute air bnb or boutique hotel room.

Keep it clean:

If you would like to have clutter-free photos, designate a room or corner of the room to be the bag area. For your details photos, I will need a clear space by the biggest window to let in lots of gorgeous natural light. This will save time when I arrive, so I can start on your photos straight away, rather than having to clear a space first. It will also help your getting ready room to feel more relaxed and chilled out if it is not full of clutter!

Have your details ready:

You have likely spent lots of time specially selecting certain details of your day, so I love to photograph them as a part of the story of your day! Please have all details gathered and ready for me to photograph when I arrive. After greeting you, I will immediately start on detail photos as your hair and makeup is being done. I recommend having these gathered in a box ahead of time.

What details to include:

There are so many things you may want a photo of. I recommend having everything together on the day, and then if you change your mind about including anything, its all there and you won't have to hunt around trying to find it. Here are just a few suggestions:

Stationary: Invitations, order of service, RSVPs, menu, order of the day

Jewellery: Rings (both the wedding rings and engagement ring), necklace, earrings, bracelets, cufflinks, watches, tie pin

Accessories: Dress, veil, shoes, tie, belt, hair accessories

Flowers: bouquet, any variations on the bouquet (flower girl/bridesmaid's bouquets), button hole, corsage, hair piece

Miscellaneous: perfume/cologne, wedding day gifts, wedding outfits (dress/bridesmaid dress, etc), copies of your vows, pet accessories if they are part of the wedding, wedding letters to each other, ring box, anything old, new, borrowed or blue, and anything else that is special to you!
